Maryland Homeschool Resource Network (MHRN) provides a comprehensive bibliography of web resources for homeschoolers both in and out of Maryland. The MHRN website offers links to numerous educational resources, including lesson plans, activities, and study tips; a directory of support resources; Maryland state laws; and a page of tutors and mentors for hire in Maryland.
Maryland Homeschool Association is a grassroots
association that grew out of Hand in Hand Homeschool and works to create an
active and diverse statewide homeschool organization. Their website is an
excellent resource containing a comprehensive support group directory, and links to homeschool resources around the state including homeschool support
groups; tutors; and listings for art, music, fitness, dance, and health
teachers and classes.
Hand in Hand Homeschool supports homeschool families
in the state of Maryland. They strive to provide access to quality information
on their website, including updated information on homeschool-related
legislation. The website also has links to other resources such as homeschool
curricula and field trips in the Mid-Atlantic area, as well as professional
services offered by Maryland Hand in Hand.
National
Homeschool Legal Defense Association (HSLDA) is a
membership-driven nonprofit advocacy organization established to “defend and advance the constitutional
right of parents to direct the education of their children and to protect
family freedoms.” This organization provides homeschool-related legal advice
to its members; promotes homeschool-friendly legislation at the state and
federal levels; and offers information and resources to encourage and support
all current and potential homeschoolers.
