Maryland Statewide Public Services Conference

Winter 2026 Public Service Conference 

Virtual Day: Tuesday, February 24, 2026 
In-Person Day at the Maryland State Library Resource Center: Wednesday, February 25, 2026 

Calling all Public Service Staff! Please join us for 2 days of training sessions, activities, and camaraderie with guest speakers from across the state of Maryland and beyond. The theme of this year’s conference is “Beyond the Desk: Strengthening Service & Self." We will provide opportunities for staff to network with one another, to strengthen their professional skills, and enjoy some unique activities! 

Some of the topics that may be covered include (but are not limited to): 

• Growth & Leadership Pathways for Public Service Staff
• Wellness & Resilience
• Special Collections & Non-Traditional Library Materials
• Understanding Library Policy & Funding Challenges
• Strengthening Core Service Skills
• Financial Literacy & Personal Development
• Increasing Access to Services and Materials 

We will also offer opportunities to connect, explore creativity, and have fun! 

Why should you attend the conference? 

• Supplement the training that you have received within your county or region
• Make connections with speakers and colleagues who are just as passionate about public service and libraries as you are
• Explore some programs and offerings you might have missed while you were at the desk
• Earn continuing education hours
• Registration is free, and breakfast and lunch are provided, along with snacks during our social hour! 

Would you like to lead a training session or activity at the conference? 

If so, please complete and submit the proposal form by Friday, December 5th, 2025, at 5 pm.

How long will each day possibly last? 

• Virtual Day: Tuesday, February 24, 2026: 9 am–5 pm
• In-Person Day at the Maryland State Library Resource Center: Wednesday, February 25, 2026: 8 am–5 pm.

December 2025.
