African Americans in Sports
An ebook, by Carla Mooney, that addresses several eras and types of sports. It is offered via Gale Virtual Reference Library by clicking on the link next to "Electronic Access" (A library card required for remote use.) Browseable via the chapters of the "Table of Contents", or the "Book Index" tab.
Black Fives Foundation
The website of a foundation that preserves the legacy of an all-Black organized basketball tradition that predated the integration of the NBA (1950). Under the Pioneers tab are profiles of Black Fives teams, players, and other associates, pictures of venues, and a chronological list of teams that won championships. Under the exhibitions tab are digital collections such as: Early Basketball, Semi-Pro Opportunities, Depression Era, and Racial Integration.
By Popular Demand: Jackie Robinson and Other Baseball Highlights, 1860s - 1960s
A "[Commemoration of Robinson's] achievements and [description of] some aspects of the color line's development and the Negro leagues." Items of  this exhibit (e.g. essays, manuscripts, photographs, ephemera, and books) are nestled--to browse, begin at the main tab (About this Collection), but don't overlook adjacent tabs: "Collection Items" or "Articles and Essays".
Negro Leagues Baseball Museum eMuseum
A digital collection that includes a timeline, team and personal profiles, and narratives (Diamond Cuts) under the Negro Leagues History tab, as well as a Photo Archive, Recommended Resources, and Multimedia Archive (clips from an oral history project) under the Research Library tab. Includes Teacher Resources.
RBdigital Magazines
 A platform that offers digital access to mainstream magazines (current and archived issues) that cover African American athletes (e.g. ESPN, SLAM). Free, however, an initial registration is required (library card account number will be needed).
The History Makers: the Nation's Largest African American Video Oral History Collection
The SportsMakers section includes brief biographical portraits and clips of interviews of persons in the fields of baseball, basketball, boxing, football, golf, television, track and field, chess, etc. Paid members gain access to full length video clips among other benefits.
